Apply for social and co-op housing in Vancouver

Are you a low income earner looking for an affordable home in Vancouver? You may qualify for social housing.

Social housing is long-term housing that has rent reduced to fit your income. In most cases, your rent will be 30% of your household income before taxes.

Social housing is available for:

  • Seniors
  • People with disabilities
  • Low-income singles
  • Aboriginal Peoples

How to apply for social housing

City staff do not manage the social housing program in Vancouver. It is run through the Province of British Columbia’s BC Housing program.

Opening soon: 95 East 1 Ave

Council recently approved Community Land Trust as the operator for 95 East 1st Ave. The building is anticipated to open in early January. The City is not involved in the tenanting process. 

If you’re interested in living there, pre-register online. Applicants who meet the pre-qualification requirements will receive a follow-up call in January for additional information and interviews.
