Ways to pay your taxes

How much do you owe?

Set up an online account. You will need your access code. It can be found on your tax notice.

Log in to your account

Get your account balance. No login or registration required.

You can pay property taxes by online banking, by mail, at City Hall, at your bank or ATM, and with your mortgage payments.

Taxes can't be paid by credit card.

How to avoid a penalty

To avoid a 5% penalty, we must receive the following by July 5, 2017:

Claim your grant online

Through your bank or credit union

Pay your taxes online, by phone, or in person through your bank or credit union and get an instant confirmation receipt.

Drop off, mail, or in person at City Hall

Send your payment by mail or drop it into our mail slot. You can also hand in your payment in person at City Hall.

Deadlines and penalties

Find out when your taxes are due, how to avoid penalties, and what you will be charged if your tax payment is late.

Tax payment programs

Through your mortgage

Pay your property tax through your mortgage payments. Remember: you will need to claim your home owner grant each year.

Instalment Plan

Pre-pay next year's property taxes with instalments deducted from your bank account. Or, pre-authorize withdrawals from your bank account on tax due dates.

Defer your taxes

Have a family with children? Or, are you aged 55 and older, a surviving spouse, or have a disability? Apply for a low-interest BC government loan to pay your property taxes.
