Listel hotel committs to reduce their GHGs by 35% by 2015 for 1990 levels

 

The Listel Hotel

Dubbed Vancouver's "most artful hotel..." this hotel is a key partner to many of the city's most well known and respected cultural entities. Their restaurant has been a Robson Street landmark since the early 1970s and is a key supporter of the Ocean Wise program, the Green Table Network, and many Vancouver based charities.

Accomplishments

  • Installation of solar panels and heat recovery equipment, which reduced natural gas consumption by 30%.
  • Changed individual amenities bottles to designer amenities dispensers and locally produced products, thus removing over 40,000 bottles and unconsumed product from the waste stream.

  • Research and develop a specific plan for moving to and through the "next steps" of GHG emissions reductions.
